About Our Therapists

About Dr. Kelly Takasawa: Dr. Takasawa approaches therapy as the process of discovering who you are, why you do the things you do, and learning to accept or change things as you feel ready to do so. It's the process of exploring, learning, and growing. Ultimately psychotherapy is about learning to trust yourself and subsequently become empowered as you walk through life.

Kelly works with you to shift patterns of thoughts, emotions and behavior toward more positive and life enhancing perspectives. She brings a professional interest and unique perspectives to issues involving relationships, stress and anxiety, depression as well as the process of coming to know and accept oneself better, with a clearer, more confident sense of identity and an increased capacity to trust your own truth.

Dr. Takasawa holds a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University / Honolulu Campus. She was the recipient of the "Outstanding Clinical Skills Award, of her doctoral class. She is currently a Post Doctoral Fellow in Clinical Psychology working under the direct clinical supervision of Dr. L. Martin Johnson, Clinical Psychologist and founder of Hawaii Center for Psychology. She works with adult individuals.
