FAQ

General Questions

1. What is testing?

Testing uses scientifically valid measures to gain insight into your strengths and areas of concerns.  The specific tests are chosen to best address your needs and to provide the most useful information for you.  At the conclusion of testing, these results are shared with you through a comprehensive report and discussed during a 1-hour appointment with your doctor.

Insurance and Testing

2. Is testing covered by insurance?

Depending on your coverage, your insurance may cover all or a portion of testing.  Our staff will be able to better discuss your insurance coverage for testing in your first appointment.

3. Do I need a referral from my physician?

Most insurance providers do not require a referral from your physician.  However, this varies between insurance companies.  We will be better able to address this question when we know your specific insurance policy during your first appointment. Psychotherapy never requires a referral from a physician.

4. How much does testing cost?

Costs for testing varies according to your assessment needs.  Insurance may cover a portion of the costs.  We will provide you with a general cost estimate in your initial appointment with your doctor prior to beginning the testing process.
